🎃 Is Halloween really just harmless fun, or does its history reveal something far more troubling?
Every October, millions of people celebrate Halloween by dressing in costumes, decorating their homes with skeletons and gravestones, and participating in traditions associated with ghosts, spirits, and the dead. But where did these customs originate, and should those who worship the God of Israel participate in them?

In this episode of the Sightedmoon Podcast, host Ryan Nall welcomes back Joseph Dumond for an examination of Halloween, its ancient religious associations, and its relationship to the commandments of Yehovah.
Together, Ryan and Joseph explore the Celtic festival of Samhain, Roman celebrations honoring the dead, and the development of Halloween within Western Christian tradition. They also discuss claims connecting ancient Egyptian mythology, Osiris, Nimrod, and later religious customs.
In this episode, we discuss:
🔹 The Origins of Halloween — Exploring Samhain, ancient Celtic beliefs, and the traditions surrounding October 31.
🔹 Roman Festivals and the Dead — Examining Feralia, Pomona, Saturnalia, and their alleged connections to modern celebrations.
🔹 Costumes, Spirits, and the Supernatural — Why did ancient people disguise themselves, and what did they believe about the boundary between the living and the dead?
🔹 Osiris, Nimrod, and Ancient Mystery Religions — Investigating claims about resurrection mythology, the veneration of the dead, and their influence on later religious practices.
🔹 Christianity and Pagan Traditions — How did ancient customs interact with the expanding Christian world?
🔹 What Does the Torah Command? — Examining God’s prohibitions against necromancy, mediums, and attempting to communicate with the dead.
🔹 The Resurrection and Shavuot — Contrasting traditions surrounding death with the biblical hope of resurrection and eternal life.
Is Halloween simply a cultural celebration, or are believers participating in traditions that conflict with the Torah?
Join Ryan and Joseph as they challenge popular assumptions about Halloween and examine what it means to worship Yehovah according to His commandments.
